She tried to hold on to the dream she had just woken up from. It had been about the boy with the charming smile, the boy who talked to all the other kids, but not really to her. What had it been? She shrugged it off. Just a dream. She'd have plenty of time to remember it. But that night, something went wrong. The steady beeping that had become her lullaby was more like a funeral dirge.
